One of the best ways to see the sights is on the Malaga tourist bus. Named as the Malaga City Hop-on Hop-off Tour, the bus does exactly that.
A number of buses operate in the city passing all the popular tourist spots. Tourists are able to choose when and where to get on or off the bus, and are free to choose how long they wish to stay at each location. You can even choose where to start your tour. It is not necessary to start from the main departure point.
The buses come every 30min and have 15 different stops around the city. The tours have slightly different summer and winter operating hours, but more information can be found here.
All buses are open-topped and offer the best views possible while driving around the city. Recorded commentary plays while the bus is in motion, so everyone knows exactly what they are looking at. This alone makes a big difference with the insight gained.
The main stops and attractions in Malaga you will see are: Museo Arte Contemporaneo, Puerto, Paseo del Parque, Paseo de la Farola, Playa Malagueta, Plaza de Toros (Malaga Bullring), Castillo de Gibralfaro, Santuario de la Victoria, Pza. Merced (Casa Picasso), Alcazaba/Teatro Romano, Catedral de Malaga (Malaga Cathedral) and Avda Andalucia.
No taxi tour can rival the price competitiveness of the Malaga tourist bus.
Even though some of the stops are within walking distance of each other, the weather can be very hot and you won’t get lost if you stick with the bus.
